Alan Gilkison

Alan is Ryden’s Managing Partner. He is responsible for leading Ryden’s business plan across the firm’s offices and business groups.

Alan has extensive experience in all aspects of general practice surveying and specialises in the industrial and general commercial development sectors. 

He is an expert in the acquisition and disposal of industrial property stock and the marketing of vacant space to secure occupiers. He has provided detailed advice on nearly all of the key industrial developments within the Greater Glasgow area over the past 20 years and has also been involved with the redevelopment of sites for a variety of uses such as residential, student accommodation, offices and retail.

PROJECTS:

Hillington Park Provided in-depth market research to Oaktree/Patrizia to assist with the purchase of the Hillington estate. This included the collection, collation and analysis of data for a 10 year period to reveal trends in supply and demand and to assist with future forecasting of demand and likely competing supply.  Market transactions were analysed along with a review of the existing tenants and their likely future needs.   

Wm Morrison Supermarkets plc Advisor on their distribution requirements in Scotland. Acquired in excess of 250,000 sq ft of distribution space to supplement the existing supply chain and provide them with market updates to assist with forecasting of future needs.

Eurocentral Advised EPL Partnership on the development of this premier distribution and logistics location for over 10 years. Lettings have been secured with Wincanton, Mentholatum, Eddie Stobart, James Latham, Warburtons, SIG and Stapletons. Over 750,000 sq ft has been developed on a speculative basis with a further phase of development currently being appraised.
