12 January 2021
Following £375m of additional funding received from the Treasury, Finance Secretary, Kate Forbes announced yesterday a top up to the grant support currently available for the retail, leisure and hospitality businesses which are closed due to level 4 restrictions in Scotland. Additional payments will now be made as follows:
- £25,000 for larger hospitality businesses (i.e. those with a rateable value of £51,001 or more) on top of the 4-weekly £3,000
- £6,000 for smaller hospitality businesses (i.e. those with a rateable value of £51,000 or less) on top of the 4-weekly £2,000
- £9,000 for larger retail and leisure businesses (those with a rateable value of £51,001) on top of the 4-weekly £3,000
- £6,000 for smaller retail and leisure businesses (those with a rateable value of £51,000 or less) on top of the 4-weekly £2,000
For those already in receipt of the 4-weekly payment from the Strategic Framework Business Fund, this top up should be automatically applied. New applications will be also be considered for those who have yet to apply.
We would urge all ratepayers who are eligible for this fund, and who have not yet applied, to apply directly with their local authority, details of which are published on each local authority’s website.
