06 July 2020
On behalf of landlord Cromdale Ltd, Ryden has signed up high-tech start up company Celestia Technologies Group UK Ltd (Celestia UK) for the 4,880 sq ft upper floor at Livingston House, 43a Discovery Terrace, Heriot-Watt University Research Park in Edinburgh.
This move for Celestia UK comes after securing a £2.5 million R&D award from Scottish Enterprise, which will allow them to establish an innovative project to develop a fully electronic scanning antenna for use with satellite-based aircraft Wi-Fi applications.
Iain Taylor, Associate at Ryden commented on the transaction:
“We are very pleased to welcome Celestia UK to the Research Park. Their decision to locate here, despite the current challenging backdrop of the Covid-19 pandemic, is a further endorsement of Heriot-Watt Research Park as one of Scotland’s premier Science Park destinations.”
José Alonso, Chairman of Celestia UK's parent company, Celestia Technologies Group added:
"After establishing our business in Scotland at GRID at Heriot-Watt University, we have made the move to the Research Park so we can set up lab facilities and offices which have the flexibility to expand as our business develops. It is the ideal setting for our growing team to be based, with an excellent location and facilities plus a beautiful environment."
Ryden acted on behalf of landlord Cromdale Ltd in the transaction, whilst Celestia UK were self-represented.
