The former home of Weatherford’s manufacturing operations in Aberdeen has been acquired by AM Sci Tech, a subsidiary of Hurstwood Holdings, and is expected to become a key asset within Aberdeen Energy Park. Ryden represented the seller in this transaction and has also been retained to lease the property.

The site spans 7.23 acres and is located in Bridge of Don in the heart of the Energy Park. It includes a detached 22,005 sq ft industrial unit with a unique on site test drilling rig, a secure yard and office space across two floors. Now rebranded as The Horizon Centre, the unit will be available for lease and options are being evaluated for the development of the remaining three acres.

Gordon Pirie, asset manager at Aberdeen Energy & Innovation Parks, commented

“The acquisition of this site is a fantastic addition to Aberdeen Energy Park, further reinforcing its status as a premier destination for industry and innovation. We look forward to marketing the unit and advancing development plans for the remaining site.

“Our commitment to Aberdeen remains strong and we believe The Horizon Centre will play a key role in attracting businesses looking for high quality, strategically located facilities.”

Paul Richardson, Partner at Ryden added:

“The Horizon Centre presents an ideal opportunity for a variety of uses, particularly for organisations involved in net zero initiatives, energy transition or decommissioning.

"The site’s strategic location, high-quality facilities and extensive yard space make it a prime choice for businesses looking to establish or expand their operations in Aberdeen. We are excited to bring this opportunity to market and anticipate strong interest.”

The Energy Park is already home to several high profile businesses including Global Port Services, Hydro Group and Aberdeen & Grampian Chamber of Commerce.
